Featured at SC2003

The fMRIDC demonstrated remote fMRI applications during the IEEE SuperComputing conference in November, 2003 in Pheonix, AZ. Applications used included AIR, FSL and fMRIDC developed code.

The handout from the SC2003 conference is available in PDF format.

Grid Description

The fMRI Data Center's High Performance Compute Center was installed October of 2002. The Data Center is Sun Microsystems Center of Excellence in Neuroscience.

The system is a cluster of 8 processor Sun Fire V880s with 16G of memory per node. The Sun Grid Engine is used to schedule the compute resources including parallel MPI jobs using the Sun HPC ClusterTools 5.

The Grid systems is directly attached to a 4TB Sun StorEdge 3910 disk array. The systems utilize a shared multi-reader/multi-writer file system (Sun Performance Suite). This file system extends to a 700 slot robotic tape library, the Sun StorEdge L700, for nearline access to the complete fMRIDC archive of studies.

The fMRIDC High Performance Compute Center architecture diagrams are available in PDF format.
